Center for Climate Risk Management
The main goals of CLIMA are: ◾To develop a new Penn State integrated assessment model of climate change that improves the representation of potential climate threshold responses and the uncertainty about ethical frameworks. ◾To use this new integrated assessment model to analyze two questions. 1.How does the uncertainty about potential climate threshold responses and future ethical value judgments affect the choice of efficient climate risk management strategies? 2.How can we improve probabilistic climate change projections to better inform decision-making about climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies? ◾To promote interaction among faculty, students, and staff in the growing interdisciplinary field of climate risk management (e.g., through seminars series and the support of the integrated assessment model).
