| Operation of CIMP-3D is conducted through the Center's two Co-Directors, Dr. Richard Martukanitz and Dr. Timothy Simpson. The Center functions through research support from federal and state government, as well as through the private sector. An important aspect of the Center's activities is the operation of the Additive Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) for the Open Manufacturing initiative of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
